LaurNedria Washington
Laurnedria Washington has turned personal tragedy into powerful advocacy for survivors of trauma and abuse. Her early life was marked by the devastating loss of her father, a beloved pastor, when she was just ten years old. This grief led to years of silent suffering, eventually manifesting as depression and a life threatening eating disorder.
At eighteen, weighing only 60 pounds, Laurnedria nearly died from anorexia before beginning a difficult recovery journey. As she healed, she pursued modeling and acting, slowly rebuilding the confidence and self worth her disorders had destroyed. However, her struggles weren’t over. She entered a relationship that became increasingly abusive, trapping her in a cycle of violence and control.
Finding the courage to escape with her young daughter, Laurnedria rebuilt her life from nothing. She returned to school, became a certified health coach, and discovered her calling in helping other survivors. Today, she works with women in domestic violence shelters, combining professional expertise with lived experience to guide others toward healing.
Her memoir ‘Every Situation is Escapable’ shares the raw truth of her journey, offering hope to those still trapped in darkness. Laurnedria’s message is simple but powerful: healing is possible, you are not alone, and freedom is worth fighting for. Her life demonstrates that survivors can not only escape but thrive, finding purpose in their pain and peace in their recovery.
